I started this blog in May 2011 to log my thoughts about the San Jose Sharks… Inevitably? life moved on and while I’m still following the Sharks, I’m much more focused now on my own fitness and with a looming hockey shutdown / lockout I’m following other sports more than hockey (soccer and baseball for now, but football season is starting). So this is now a Biking, Sports, Surviving the 2012 Election, and anything else that crosses my brain – blog.

About the title: For a while now, my lovely wife and a good friend of hers from work have talked about their Hammies (Hamsters) getting confused as a fun way of describing some of the wacky behavior they see working at a middle-school. 6th to 8th grade kids and their parents do some strange things – I have fearlessly co-opted this as the new title for the blog.

  1. Just realized an underlined name click on Fat Cyclist comments goes to a blog, thus this visit. Western Wheelmen in CA? In the 90’s I had a once a week job in Palo Alto, bought a hybrid bike there, and did a bunch of Wheelmen rides. Beautiful area.

    ride long and prosper
