PEDs

Short post to point out to my followers (both of you) a great fatcyclist.com post http://www.fatcyclist.com/2012/10/ about Fatty’s take on the latest Lance Armstrong / USADA news.

Between this and the SF Giants (Melky Cabrera) and Oakland A’s (Bartolo Colon) players suspended this year, PEDs are certainly in the news and on my mind.

In the end, my thoughts on this are centering on disappointment tinged with a sense of inevitability. I wish there was a way to take this out of sports, but I think as long as there’s a competitive advantage and a financial reward, there’s going to be someone who can’t withstand the temptation and others (management, trainers, coaches, etc.) who will either look the other way or actively support the practice.

Me, I’m just going to focus on riding my bike.
